Amitabh Bachchan was recently in news for crossing 10 million likes on Facebook was at the India Today Conclave.
“At the age of seventy one, it’s difficult to get applauses. Thank you all for that.” that is how Amithab Bachchan, greeted the audience at the India Today Conclave.
Amitabh Bachchan, has just rapped up Bhoothnath Returns. The film is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari and is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Renu Ravi Chopra. Bhoothnath Returns is set to release on April 11, 2014.
Mr. Bachchan, who has been apart of Bollywood since the 1960s, says filmmaking was more haphazard in the 1970s than it is now.
“We had no choice but to hop from one role to another and to do multiple films at the same time,” stated the superstar.
The actor was all humility when he said that the credit for embodying the mood of the nation in a movie goes to the filmmaker rather than the actor.
When session moderator Koel Purie Rinchet asked him to recite the India Today Conclave tagline imitating the mannerisms of the different onscreen characters immortalised by him, Amitabh Bachchan smiled and said that he never had to go through such grilling sessions even while he was auditioning for films.
Talking about actresses of his time, Mr. Bachchan said that if not married he would have wooed Waheeda Rehman, whom he admires a lot for her grace and poise.
Amitabh Bachchan even sang a few lines of the song Mere Angne Mein Tumhara Kya Kaam Hai from his film Laawaris.
Talking about wife Jaya Bachchan, he said the decision to quit films at the peak of her career was purely her own choice and she wanted to look after her home and children.
“In every marriage, it is the wife who takes the call and there was no scope for a joint decision.” stated Mr. Bachchan.
