The 46-year-old former leg-spinner took to Twitter to share the overwhelming news.
It seems the BCCI will soon be on a searching spree to decide the next coach of the Indian Cricket team. Yesterday, Anil Kumble, the head coach of the team became ex-head coach as he resigned from the mentioned post. It has been a spectacular year for the team under the guidance of Kumble. India had won 12 Test matches and lost only one in his year as a coach. Under his conduct, the team lost only one series- a T20 series to West Indies and the team also dominated the ICC Champions Trophy before they lost to arch-rivals Pakistan.

Anil Kumble’s one-year contract expired on June 18th when the ICC Champions Trophy concluded but, the BCCI offered him an extension and it appears the former spinner has declined. The now ex-coach took to Twitter to announce his retirement. He wrote, ”I am honoured by the confidence reposed in me by the CAC, in asking me to continue as head coach. The credit for the achievements of the last one year goes to the captain, the entire team, coaching and support staff.”
”Post this intimation, I was informed for the first time yesterday by the BCCI that the captain had reservations with my ‘style’ and about my continuing as the head coach. I was surprised since I have always respected the role boundaries between captain and coach.”
He continued, ”Though the BCCI attempted to resolve the misunderstandings between the captain and me, it was apparent that the partnership was untenable, and I, therefore, believe it is best for me to move on.”

His tweet is more of a confirmation to the rumors that everything is not right between captain Kohli and coach Kumble. Although Kohli has been denying of any rift with the coach, the Tweet by Anil Kumble is saying another story.
The BCCI confirmed the news and said,
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCC) confirms that Mr. Anil Kumble has withdrawn his services as the post of the Head Coach for the Senior India Men’s team. While the Cricket Advisory Committee had endorsed an extension to his tenure as Head Coach, Mr. Anil Kumble has decided not to continue as the coach.”
The former leg-spinner even thanked his fans and followers for all their support in his Tweet of resignation. It is a very sad time for all Kumble fans that the ace former cricketer has resigned and people are infuriated at Kohli as people suspect that he was the cause of this step that was taken by Kumble.
Just remove all players who are unhappy with #AnilKumble. Indian cricket team will go places.
