Anushka Sharma is gearing in full speed for the release of her upcoming film, Phillauri. She is not only a part of the main cast but also is producing it. Also seen in the movie are Diljit Dosanjh and Suraj Sharma.
Phillauri, set in Punjab, is a story of an NRI, played by Suraj Sharma, who is manglik and is made to marry a tree before his actual wedding. Unaware that by doing this he has actually married Shashi (Anushka Sharma), a ghost who resides in the tree and then insists that Suraj accepts her as his bride. The film also uncovers Shashi’s life before she becomes a ghost where she was in love with a folk singer, played by Diljit Dosanjh.
The marketing team of the film has been using the friendly ghost concept really well. They even have a dedicated WhatsApp number on which lucky fans will get to video call with Shashi (Anushka).
Besides that, the makers are using a hashtag “ShashiWasThere”. For this hashtag, they have been morphing the picture of Shashi’s spirit and adding it to different sort of pictures of fans and followers.
Recently the makers of Phillauri used Oscars’ best picture blooper in their favor. Someone’s loss was someone’s gain in this case. With the “ShashiWasThere” hashtag they smartly took a photo from that evening which was circulation on the net and morphed Shashi’s ghostly appearance. The photo sees the cast and crew of ‘La La Land’ standing on the stage looking confused as they realized the actual winner is ‘Moonlight’.

The caption was even more entertaining: “Yeh log mujhe sun nahin paye, main toh kab se Hindi mein keh rahi thi ki naam galat likha hai #ShashiWasThere”
This is such a killer idea. Well done team! Cheers to the creative team.
