MUMBAI: Arjun Kapoor, YRF’s blue-eyed boy from films like ‘Ishaqzaade’, ‘Aurangzeb’ and the upcoming ‘Gunday’, seems to have landed yet another plum project with another top level banner.
Arjun will reportedly be seen in Karan Johar’s next production, ‘Gutka’, which will be frontlined by Akshay Kumar. Arjun will play the second lead in ‘Gutka’, playing the role of superstar Akshay Kumar’s younger brother.
Arjun has already made inroads with Dharma Productions, starring in their film ‘2 States’. Earlier, Karan Johar was in talks with Emraan Hashmi for ‘Gutka’, but now Arjun has bagged the project.
Revealed a source: “Arjun impressed everyone with his raw performance in ‘Ishaqzaade’. Though Imran and Ranbir are KJo’s favourites, Arjun is certainly playing catch up. He has already shot a lot of scenes for ‘2 States’ and surpassed his previous performance.”
Reportedly, Arjun is most excited to be working with Akshay Kumar. “Arjun is kicked about working with Akshay Kumar. His happiness knows no bounds as he is the only actor who has bagged two movies with Dharma in quick succession. He will finalise the portions of ‘Gunday’, which is expected to go on floors this year,” added the source.
‘Gutka’ is set in the tobacco industry and will deal with the issues faced by the widespread nexus.
