Arjun Rampal Reveals Rock On 2 Producers Have Suffered Due To The Move To Ban Rs 500 And Rs 1,000

Arjun Rampal, Shraddha Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Purab Kohli starrer Rock On released yesterday on November 11. The film opened with around 10-15% occupancy in the morning shows and also failed to mint good numbers on the first day. The first day business of Rock On 2 is Rs. 1.75 crore (17.5 million) nett approx, which was quite expected considering the current situation of the country. This kind of poor opening was pretty much expected as the film failed to create the much-needed hype before the release. Also, the other reason behind film’s failure might be affected the film in some way due to the ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes.

Reacting on the massive step taken by PM Narendra Modi, Arjun Rampal said, “Of course there’ll be chaos but believe it was imp decision; there was no other way but to announce suddenly: Arjun Rampal on demonetization. The backbone of people who stash black money; involved in drug trafficking, terror funding are broken or at least injured due to this.”

Talking about the Rock On 2 failure and how the ban has affected the producers of the film, Arjun Rampal said, “Producer of my film ‘Rock On’ & the film has suffered because of this as well but sometimes you have to make some sacrifices.”

“I believe & hope that this decision is beneficial in long run; it’s time when we must stand together & support Govt’s decision,” he added
