MUMBAI: Looks like Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is wary of arch-rival Salman Khan, and is afraid to release any film of his that clashes with Salman’s Eid releases.

SRK’s upcoming film with Rohit Shetty, ‘Chennai Express’, was slated for an Eid 2013 release.

The director and producer, UTV, had given the green light to this proposal. Shah Rukh had hoped to maximize the festival dates of Eid, as reports had suggested that Salman Khan would not release his next, ‘Sher Khan’, on Eid.

However, apparently Salman who heard whispers of SRK’s plans has quickly swung into action. He has decided to remake South film ‘Brindavanam’ with his brother Sohail, and release it during Eid.

The original Brindavanam director Vamsi Paidipally is slated to come on board to occupy the director’s chair.

Salman Khan is known to have monopoly over the festival of Eid, as his previous blockbusters ‘Dabangg’, ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ have all released during this period, and have done record-smashing business at the Box Office.

Next year too, it looks like Salman will rule the Box Office with his films.

Seeing the trend, SRK has backed out and has decided to release ‘Chennai Express’ after a good 2-3 week gap post the release of Salman’s film.

He wants to ensure his film is given the run of the Box Office, and he does not lose out to Salman’s super-success during Eid period.
