[tps_footer]Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Bajirao Mastani, starring Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh has been facing trouble due to some of the scenes in the film. The film has released today on December 18 all over India, but the trouble for the films till goes on.
According to the reports, Pune’s City Pride theatre cancelled three shows of the film Bajirao Mastani on Friday after a protest by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The descendants of Peshwa and Chhatrasal dynasty had organised a protest at Shaniwar Wada on December 12 against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani.
The protest was held outside the ancestral capital of Peshwas to condemn the promotional videos and songs of the movie as according to them the film distort the history. The film is based on the life of Peshwa Bajirao; ‘Bajirao Mastani‘ is a historical romantic drama and the character of Bajirao will be played by Ranveer Singh.
Reportedly, the protest was led by Undaysinh Peshwa, the descendant of Peshwas, who was joined by Kothrud’s BJP MLA, Medha Kulkarni, the descendant of Chhatrasal.
Not only by BJP, the film had faced trouble from other political parties too. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani also faced trouble in Pakistan to get no objection certificate for the film, but later it was cleared.
Well, the film has released today and is still suffering the trouble in some cities of the country. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s Dilwale has been running on the silver screens. We wait to catch what box office numbers these films create.[/tps_footer]
