MUMBAI: The tables had turned, when veteran, celebrated actor Anupam Kher decided to interview Youngistan’s youth icon and actor extraordinaire: Ranbir Kapoor.
This charming interview took place during the series: ‘An Actor Prepares- Behind The Success’, in Mumbai on Tuesday. Ranbir looked effortlessly cool and chic in a denim shirt and khaki slim pants; with a fresh face minus a beard or facial hair. Anupam was clad in a checked shirt and trousers, and made Ranbir take the hot seat and asked him some interesting questions about his craft as an actor.
All this was for Anupam Kher’s new acting academy, ‘Actor Prepares’. The duo naturally touched upon everything an actor does to prepare for a role, his techniques and methods. Ranbir, as we are all aware, is a powerhouse performer, and has made some very interesting career choices: be its agreeing to play the role of a Sikh salesman in ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year’ very early on in his career, or his last role: that of a mute and deaf boy in Anurag Basu’s critically acclaimed ‘Barfi!’ Ranbir has always broken all barriers when it comes to rules of acting, and has managed to impress the audiences with his immense range, right from his debut film: ‘Saawariya’.
Anupam Kher was of course delighted to interact with Ranbir, and was mesmerized by the young star – his intelligence and cast knowledge of cinema. The stellar actor couldn’t contain his excitement before the event, and took to twitter to let his fans know that he would be initiating the series ‘An Actor Prepares’ with none other than Ranbir Kapoor. Tweeted the senior actor: “Today at @actorprepares I will be interviewing Ranbir Kapoor for our series AN ACTOR PREPARES-BEHIND THE SUCCESS. Any questions on Acting? :)”
Presumably, Anupam did ask Ranbir quite a few questions that his fans posed to him on twitter, and hopefully they were satisfied with his answers!
