Birthday Special: Amitabh Bachchan In Many Avatars

Amitabh-Sarkar [tps_footer]Amitabh Bachchan turned a year old today and for this man, it’s immaterial what his age is. He is still as lovable, affable as ever. Even today his magic hasn’t lost the charm. In the 40+ years that he has given to the industry, Mr. Bachchan had been seen in many avatars but there are some which proved why he is a true legend.

Yes, Anand was a Rajesh Khanna film and rightfully so. But Dr. Bhaskar Banerjee couldn’t be ignored. The brooding, angry and less talking Amitabh Bachchan managed to compete with the superstar of those days not due to his towering frame but due to his stellar performance.

This was a very important film of Bachchan‘s life as it was his first solo hit. He was an angry man here and even today, he is called an angry young man. He’s 72!

It took a millennium to understand the true worth of its millennium star. This Aditya Chopra film resurrected Bachchan‘s doomed film career with this film and thank god he did! Bachchan wasn’t done yet.

As they say actor shines when his talent is challenged. AB played a progeria inflicted kid and for the first time in his career went for such a drastic prosthetic makeover. He left us floored and made us cheer Auro!

Playing a real life living character isn’t easy. But not for Big B. He emulated Balasaheb Thackeray perfectly in this political film. Shabby grey hair, loose chola and a rudraksh around his neck, he looked his part to the T.
