The actor best known for his youtube hit viral song Kolavari Di sung by him, turns a year old today, and we go deep down the memory lane to know of his journey to the stardom.
Well, it’s a well known fact that if you want to be actor, more specific, successful actor, one needs to have all that charm and glamour and the power to mesmerize the audiences while you are seen on the silver screen. But making us all give a thought to the above mentioned fact, Dhanush has shocked each and everyone in the fraternity by achieving a lot more than he can without having any of the above mentioned characteristics.
The actor has pre-dominantly worked in the Tamil regional cinema, but has also earned accolades for his mind-blowing performance in Anand Rai‘s Bollywood flick Raanjhnaa.
Dhanush‘s on-screen presence, perhaps the charm of not so good looking actor was so strong, that he was quite capable enough to overshadow the roles of beautiful Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in the movie. Well, just one film old in Bollywood, Dhanush has proven his acting prowess and we seem to hope a lot more from this eccentric actor.
Born as Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja, Dhanush which is his stage name debuted in the Tamil cinema in the year 2001. He then acted in his brother’s first directorial venture, Kadhal Kondein. The film portrayed Dhanush as a mentally-disturbed youth, who yearned for the love of his friend, eventually turning possessive over her. Upon the release, the film won critical acclaim and also became a major commercial success, catapulting Dhanush into the main foray of actor in Tamil films.
After this, Dhanush went on giving hits after hits and in the year 2011 he received the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film Aadukalam. The film also received six Awards at the 58th Filmfare Awards. Dhanush is probably the youngest actor to receive the National Award and we truly believe that he totally deserves it.
Dhanush leads an elated married life, and he got married to elder daughter of Rajnikanth, Aishwarya in the year 2004 and the couple have two sons. Dhanush occasionally records music, specially for his own films. Dhanush has that impeccable acting skills, and we totally admire his choice of films.
The actor will be next seen in R.Balki‘s, Amitabh Bachchan starrer Shamitabh. The movie is under productions and we eagerly wait for its release.
