Birthday Special: Why We Love Huma Qureshi?

Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Huma Qureshi [tps_footer]Huma Qureshi didn’t dawn on Bollywood like a typical actress, with a role that needed her to just look pretty. She debuted with Anurag Kashyap’s gangster saga, Gang Of Wasseypur which was grim, violent and many shaded of grey. Yet she managed to make a place in people’s hearts. But there are other reasons too as to why we love her so much. Here they are…

– Huma Qureshi has an unusual choice in films. Since her debut she chose projects that add credence to her talent. Be it Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurrana or Ek Thi Daayan or Shorts or D-Day, she made it clear through her choices that she wouldn’t be dismissed as a pretty face. She has oddles of talent and she will exhibit it.

– Huma Qureshi’s weight has often been talked about and at times ridiculed as well. But she never cared. She has always been proud of her curves because she knows she gets roles for her caliber and not for her calories.

– Huma was linked up with her mentor Anurag Kashyap a lot of time. In fact, she was even blamed by the press in breaking up Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin. But she held her head high and didn’t aloof herself from her mentor. When you are clear there is nothing wrong between you and the other person, world can just take a walk. Now that’s the spirit we cheer!

– Dedh Ishqiya was sequel to Ishqiya which was loved by many. The sequel was supposed to be an out and out Madhuri Dixit film but nobody could suppress this bundle of talent. She looked the part of partners in crime just right.

Says Huma ‘This year Ramzan ends on my birthday and my parents will be there with me. I am expecting to have a festive birthday.[/tps_footer]
