Bollyboom, the world’s first and biggest Bollywood electro-music festival celebrated India’s much loved festival of colors with a 7 hour non-stop entertaining Holi bash featuring Bass Raja Nucleya, DJ Chetas, DJ Aman Nagpal and DJ Shireen on 13th March 2017 at the Tulip Star, Juhu, Mumbai.
Along with a stellar line up, the Bollyboom Holi Bash also featured live percussionists, exotic performers and entertainers to usher in the festive mood. The event offered a curated F&B experience for all attendees and focused on making the overall celebration a safe and secure one. Bollyboom witnessed an attendance of over 2,500 Holi Festival enthusiasts.
The concept behind Bollyboom was to bring together the entire nation to celebrate the festival of colors. The event saw well known celebrities attend including Pooja Bedi, RJ Malishka, Gulshan Grover, and Simi Chandoke.
The event commenced with the Holi Puja followed by the band Chemical A9, DJ Shireen, DJ Aman, DJ Chetas and Nucleya kicking off the festive celebrations. The crowd was overwhelmed with the popular Holi songs played by the DJs. As the party progressed, guests were seen in high spirits burning the dance floor even as safe organic colors were thrown at each other. The event culminated on a high note with Nucleya’s top play list reverberating through the evening air.
Highlighting the experience of managing the Bollyboom Holi Bash, Indu Sabharwal Mehta, Head – Bollyboom commented, “It has been an overwhelming experience managing the second edition of Bollyboom. In India, it is festivals like Holi that bond our people together with heaps of enthusiasm. Holi is one such festival that is celebrated with a lot of gaiety and fanfare not just in India but also across the rest of the world. Holi offered us the perfect platform that linked us to our cultural roots while at the same time appealing to the mass youth demography and a global audience available virtually on multiple social media platforms. Going forward we plan to create a platform via Bollyboom to connect with the ‘Screenagers’ and help them bond with their Indian heritage through Bollywood music.
Added Indu Sabharwal Mehta, “Our endeavor is to make Bollyboom synonymous with every festival of India and take Bollyboom to all the Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities pan India in various small and large formats. We will definitely ensure that our audiences groove to Bollywood EDM throughout the year.”
Further commenting on the mix of EDM with Bollywood, Indu Sabharwal Mehta said, “Nucleya brought his unique blend of dance music with Bollywood influences that made him a perfect fit for the Bollyboom Holi Bash, celebrating the spirit of the festival. Nucleya has his own brand of music which separates him from any other DJ in the country. It was a treat to watch him perform for crowds chanting his name and grooving to the beats of his music. It was the first time that such a stellar line up performed for any Holi event and Nucleya was the best choice to close the event. The overwhelming response to his set is definitely an indication of the evolution of dance music in the country.”
