MUMBAI: ‘Tis the season of Film Festivals in Bollywood! A slew of International Film Festivals are being held in B’town, and the latest among them is the ‘Indian Film Festival of Melbourne’.
Right from the Mumbai International Film Festival, to the upcoming November edition of IFFI in Goa, it sure is film festival season in Bollywood. The Western craze of screening new and novel films at film festivals is catching up in India too. And our Bollywood stars are surely not to be left behind!
Seen at the ‘Indian Film Festival of Melbourne’, was B’town’s ‘Ooh la la’ girl, Vidya Balan. Vidya is the Ambassador for the ‘Indian Film Festival of Melbourne’, twice over.
The lady was effortlessly stylish in her uniform of Sabyasachi sari, replete with a red bindi and simple earrings. This time, she favoured a white sari with a gold border, and teamed it with a shocking red three quarter sleeved blouse. Her hair was neatly tied in a bun, to complete the Bengali diva look she so often sports.
Along with Ms. Balan, we spotted Bollywood director, ace choreographer, recently turned actress (‘Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi’) and mother-of-three Farah Khan, looking slimmer than ever in a brown embroidered kurta and black trousers. The lady sure has lost oodles of weight, and is set for her innings as a leading lady! Also seen were Bong beauty Dippanita Sharma, Jugal Hansraj and Malaika Arora Khan, looking tres chic in a white gunjee and flowing, floor length, beige printed skirt.
On offer at the festival, were a host of new and exciting small films and also films with big stars and big budgets. The celebrities at the event were seen chatting about all things cinema, and were heard appreciating the new wave of cinema in Bollywood.
