[tps_footer]Bollywood is known to be synonymous with fashion, but it is only recently that they are looking up to fashion as their career option. People have always followed Bollywood, but now will they also wear Bollywood? Or will the collection only remain exclusive? Well, of course it is available to the public, but at a handsome cost. After all, a star’s glamour follows them.
Recently, Shilpa Shetty, the ultimate Bollywood icon announced to open up her saree line in collaboration with Home Shop 18; and earlier director Karan Johar launched his #fame school of fashion, where he will mentor the upcoming designers. And if that were not enough, a 20-year-old Alia Bhatt has designed a fall collection in collaboration with Jabong, and would infact want her friend Parineeti Chopra to inaugurate her clothing line! So what exactly is the reason to move towards the fashion industry?

The only pure reason we can find is that Bollywood is an icon to many, and that everything they do should encourage their fans towards working on their goals. Be it fashion, be it acting, or be it anything else at all (Shilpa Shetty herself is a perfect icon for a mother and a professional at the same time). Also, one cannot ignore the fact that most actors have been models before entering the Bollywood industry, so fashion comes naturally to many of them. After all it’s only about taking a step back, to enter into a new dimension all together. Of course, they have never gone out to their fans personally and told them the same. But not everybody suddenly develops a liking for clothing, do they?
Most movies, and TV sitcoms too, take special care to not repeat any dresses, come what may. That is how one can guess an inspiration really comes from.
We really think Bollywood could come up with more movies based solely on fashion. Do you agree?
