[tps_footer]Raja Natwarlal is out to con people at theatres with his card tricks and others. That reminded us of certain films that successfully conned us into believing what was panned out on screen. Here are some of the best con films that Bollywood has produced.
Bunty Aur Babli
You turn into a con for two reasons; one, if you want to be rich quickly and second when you have to curb poverty. In Bunty Aur Babli, Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji defined the third type: one who wants to be famous. From selling Taj mahal to staying in a five star hotel for free, Bunty and Bali successfully tricked one and all and impressed us.
Special Chabbis
It was an organised theft where a team was specially trained to be the shield. Akshay Kumar is his career’s best role as the mastermind who works out the whole con was splendid. Neeraj Pandey took an unusual hero for the film but when you have a director who can extract performance out of people, everything else becomes cakewalk.
Bluffmaster
Strangely and also funnily, whenever Abhishek Bachchan turned into a trickster, his movies worked. Bluffmaster was perhaps his first solo hit. But it was different. A con got conned in this film successfully by others. Interesting plot and a good performance by AB jr.
Oye Lucky Lucky Oye
The film was based on a real life con man who later denied having anything to do with the film. Abhay Deol as the cute and lovable chor worked perfectly with the story. He made a stealing out his thefts and stealthily so! But then he got conned…well, what goes around comes around, you see!
Badmaash Company
The badmaashs of this company was an unlikely assembly of actors. Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Meiyang Chang and Virr Das didn’t quite look like formidable con artists but thanks to a good written twists and tricks and commendable execution, it does find a place in our list.
Aankhen
This is perhaps the best con film ever. A man out to get revenge orchestrates a bank robbery with three blind men…this exactly is the stuff our films are made of. Cinema is supposed to make impossible possible and this film does that bravely. Amitabh Bachchan as the cruel mastermind and Akshay, Arjun and Paresh Rawal as the blind robbers were amazing to say the least.
