[tps_footer]It is amazing how Bollywood functions or rather filmmakers function. There is always a clamour for dates. Getting a free Friday is a dream come true for filmmakers other than those who have Khan’s in their cast. Only recently Friday, August 1 went waste, fearing Kick’s onslaught. But surprisingly August seems to be the month that kickstarts big releases of every year.
Much has to do with the fact that August kickstarts the festive season. Post Shravan and Ramzan, Eid forms the first holiday for filmmakers to scurry for it. Last year we had Chennai Express, this year we had Kick. Like always, the films have done massive business. With just a week as a relief, Entertainment released with Akshay Kumar in the lead.
Even before the film can make some good numbers, Singham Returns will try to test whether audience still believe in Bajirao Singham.
Thus, begins an array of big movie releases. Mardaani will take on Sigham next on August 22 followed by con man Raja Natwarlal. While that gets sorted, Mary Kom will try to spoil Dawaat-E-Ishq’s taste on people’s mouth. So on and so forth with Happy New Year in between. What’s with August we ask![/tps_footer]
