MUMBAI: As reported by businessofcinema.com, the first day of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s ‘Talaash’ was fair at the box office. The film has held steady through the weekend, and dipped on Monday.
Directed by Reema Kagti, the film also features Kareena Kapoor (in her first, after being married) and Rani Mukerji. ‘Talaash’ released on Friday 30 November, with collections in the range of Rs 128 million (12.8 crore) net approximately.
During the weekend ‘Talaash’ showed consistence with Saturday figures of approximately Rs 144 million (Rs 14.40 crore) net, and Sunday’s upsurge of Rs 168 million (Rs 16.80 crore) net.
Monday, being a weekday saw a dip in the business, with a collections of Rs 65 million (Rs 6.5 crore) net. This brings the four day total of Aamir Khan’s ‘Talaash’ to just about Rs 505 million (Rs 50.5 crore net).

Even Shah Rukh Khan’s latest ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ raked in notable business by its 4th day. The four-day total of the film was in the range of Rs 600 million (Rs 60 crore) net. On its 5th Day, JTHJ Indian and Overseas collections sailed through the Rs 1 billion (Rs 100 crore) net mark. SEE REPORT
While touching half a century mark for ‘Talaash’ was expected, the number of days the film has taken to touch the figure is dismal, considering it’s an Aamir Khan movie. Taking his history of breaking all records during ‘3 Idiots’, the response to ‘Talaash’ is somber.
