Could Salman Khan’s much-awaited film Tubelight break Baahubali 2 first day opening record? 

Finally, after a long wait, Salman Khan and Sohail Khan starrer Tubelight has released today at the Box Office. After the overwhelming success of Baahubali 2 (Bahubali 2), Salman Khan’s Tubelight is the next big release at the Box Office. Well, all the eyes are currently on if the film has been able to conquer the worldwide box-office with its opening day and best opening record of Baahubali 2.

In the box-office battle between Tubelight and Baahubali 2 first day opening, Prabhas starrer has scored a win. However, minus comparison with Baahubali 2, Tubelight has received best opening.

Tubelight has witnessed a good opening of around ­­­­­35-40% in the morning shows. The film has released to 10000 screens worldwide and to around more than 3000 screens in Mumbai. The occupancy in North has been much better while elsewhere it has been decent to good. The main multiplexes in North have opened with an occupancy of 50%. The opening in terms of occupancy is the third best of the year after Bahubali 2 – The conclusion and Raees. This is for the first time after Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan that Salman starrer film has opened to underwhelming response.

Baahubali 2 had witnessed a massive opening of around 75-80% and was the biggest opening so far in the last 10 years. The film had created havoc in all the cities of the country. The South versions had opened to an earth-shattering response with practically 90-100% occupancy in all the states including Nizam / Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka or Kerala.

Tubelight is one of the most awaited films of the year and marks the third collaboration of Salman and Kabir after Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ek Tha Tiger. It also stars Sohail Khan, late Om Puri, Zhu Zhu and Matin Rey Tangu in lead roles.
