Shujaat Saudagar’s musical drama ‘Rock On 2,’ which stars Farhan Akhtar, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Prachi Desai and Shashank Arora in lead roles released on November 11. The film opened to a poor start and has failed to impress the audience. Rock On 2 witnessed 10-15% opening and managed to collect Rs. 1.75-2 crore nett approx on its first day.
Fortunately, the film managed to show the growth of around 20-25% on day 2 and has collected Rs 2.50 crore nett approx, taking the 2 days total collection of the film to Rs. 3.35 crore nett approx. The film failed to draw the audience in the theatre and reason can be due to the mixed reviews. Also, the demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes by the Modi government can be one of the reasons behind the film’s failure.
Now it remains to see what magic the film creates to survive at the Box Office in the coming days. The collections of the film can only rely on word of mouth, which can be a game changer. The target audience of the film is mostly youth and so, the film should show substantial growth in multiplexes and cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore
