Shraddha Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar starrer Rock On 2, which is the sequel to 2008 hit Rock On, has finally hit the screens today on, November 11. The musical drama film, which has been directed by Shujaat Saudagar, also stars Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli and Shashank Arora.
The film has opened to a very dull start and has witnessed the occupancy of around 5-10% in the morning shows. This kind of poor opening was pretty much expected as the film failed to create the much-needed hype before the release. Unlike the original one, the music of sequel Rock On 2 turned out to be huge disappointment among the audience. While the trailer of the film had an average impact on the audience, music too received a cold response.
Also, Rs.500 and Rs.1000 currency ban has affected the film in some way but even if the ban was not imposed, Rock On 2 would have witnessed the low opening, as predicted. Now it remains to see what magic the film creates to survive at the Box Office in the coming days. The collections of the film can only rely on word of mouth, which can be a game changer. The target audience of the film is mostly youth and so, the film should show substantial growth in multiplexes and cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore
