Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai had already crossed the 200 crore mark in its first week itself.
Seems like Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s fans are not getting enough of them. As their recently released film Tiger Zinda Hai is still going strong at the box-office. The film was released on December 22 and is currently in its second week.
The film proved to be a blockbuster in its very first weekend. Salman’s film entered the 100 crore club in its very first weekend. And crossed the 200 crore mark after its first week’s business.
The second weekend was going strong with around Rs 11.5 crore earned on Friday and Rs 15 crore on Saturday. And now with the Sunday collections out, the film has reached the grand total of Rs 254 crore. TZH earned around Rs 21.75 crore on the last day of the year which was a Sunday.
The second weekend, all in all, did a business of Rs 48.25 crore making the film reach the 250 crore mark. And looking at the ongoing pace of collections, the film is very likely to enter the 300 crore club before it steps in its third week.
The festive season of Christmas and New Year has always worked for the Bollywood stars. And the New Year’s Eve falling on a weekend helped more in film’s business.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Tiger Zinda Hai is based on real life events. The film’s story revolves around the mission of Indian secret agency RAW to save Indian nurses who were held hostages by the terrorists in Iraq. While Salman plays the Indian RAW agent Tiger in the film, Katrina plays the Pakistani ISI agent Zoya. The film is a sequel to the 2012 release Ek Tha Tiger.
