Bollywood’s veteran actor turned politician Hema Malini met with a road accident on Thursday night in Dausa, Rajasthan, where her car Mercedes Benz rammed an Alto car in which four injured and one 5-year-old girl died on the spot.
Hema Malini who was severely bleeding was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Jaipur. The 66-year-old actress received a stitch on her head and is reportedly fine now. Hanuman Mahajan, who lost his 5 year old daughter, Sonam in the accident in Dausa was present in the car along with his other family members, his wife Shikha (35), Somil (5), and Seema (40), who were shifted to Jaipur’s SMS hospital after the accident happened while Hema Malini was taken to Fortis Hospital.
The Rajasthan police has arrested Hema Malini’s driver Ramesh Chand after FIR was registered against him for rash driving where 5 year old girl died. According to the reports, it is said that the driver was driving rash and the speeding Mercedes Benz drove over the divider.
On Friday morning at 7:45am, Duasa police arrested the driver under section 304-A (Causing death due to negligence) of the Indian Penal Code(IPC) which is a bailable offense. Reportedly the driver would be taken to the accident spot for the further verification.

The major accident took place on National Highway near Dausa, post 8:30 pm, when the actress’s car collided with an Alto. The mishap left four people severely injured while one 5-year-old girl died who were travelling in the Alto car. While Hema Malini was bleeding on the forehead area above the right eye and was soon rushed to Fortis hospital for the treatment. Her driver is said to have suffered leg injuries.
The latest reports suggest that the actress was not driving the car as blood was found on the left side of the car where she was sitting, thereby it is cleared that she was not driving the car.
Meanwhile, the doctors of the Fortis Hospital will organize a press meet to give the health condition of Hema Malini.
