It’s raining awards for Omung Kumar‘s directional debut Mary Kom. The film that recently won the National Award for best popular film providing wholesome entertainment followed by the Best Film Award at the Stockholm International Film Festival Junior (SIFFJ) has now been bestowed with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Best Feature Film by the Maharashtra government, it was announced yesterday. The award is India’s highest award in cinema and director Omung Kumar is naturally elated with the honour. With his awards tally on a constant rise, let’s see which one will he bag next!
Recently, Omung Kumar’s Mary Kom bio-pic has won an award at a very cute film festival in Sweden. Honoured at the Stockholm International Film Festival Junior in Sweden, the movie was judged by little children from the age 6 to 19 years old. The movie was loved by the children and wantedPriyanka Chopra to visit the country to meet them.
Directed Omung Kumar had kept three screenings of the film for the children in Sweden. All the screenings were for the kids aged from 6 to 19 years old. The director of the movie was suppose to come back but when he heard that the jury awarded the film with Bronze Horse Award he returned to the location where the screening was kept for the children.
