Bollywood filmmaker Ketan Mehta’s biopic on Dashrath Manjhi released yesterday. After watching Manjhi: The Mountain Man, the family members of Dashrath Manjhi were extremely happy. They whole family watched the biopic that depicts Dashrath Manjhi’s inspiring story at a theatre in Bihar.
The way Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte starrer film told the story of “Mountain Man”, it just touched everyone’s heart. Manjhi’s son, Bhagirath was very happy to see his father’s real life story shaped into a film. “We are happy to see Baba’s real story in the shape of a film. It will help the next generation to know his rare and dedicated hard and selfless work,” Bhagirath said.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte starrer film Manjhi: The Mountain Man has gone tax free in Bihar. The film is based on a true story and life of Dashrath Manjhi, who broke a mountain for the lost love, Manjhi film stars Bollywood’s one of the finest and talented actors, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte in the leading roles. Directed by Ketan Mehta, Manjhi: The Mountain Man is a film about Dashrath Manjhi, also known as Mountain Man, who broke a mountain for love. He was madly and deeply in love with his wife, Phaguniya. Dashrath’s world shattered into pieces when his wife slipped while climbing the mountain and fell to her death.
This tragic incident turned Dashrath’s life upside down. Burdened by the grief of lost love, he decided to carve out a safe way through the edgy mountain, where a lot of people have fallen to their deaths. It took him 22 years of carving and breaking to form a path through the mountain. Seasons came and went, but he stood still like a rock, stiff on his decision, with nothing more than a hammer and a chisel, he achieved his goal.
After watching the film, Dashrath Manjhi’s grandson expressed that he never thought of such a beautiful film on his grandfather’s work. The film is being well received in Bihar and many other states.
After Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand became the fourth state to make Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte’s recently released film Manjhi: The Mountain Man tax free.
