Dedh Ishqiya Star Arshad Warsi Refuses To Audition For Mira Nair

Arshad Warsi 03

[tps_footer]With Mr Joe B. Carvalho falling flat at the Box-Office, Arshad Warsi has all his eyes set on his next release Dedh Ishqiya. In the meantime though, director Mira Nair has offered Arshad a role in her next. But there is a caveat. Arshad will have to audition for the role – something he has refused.

“I have never given an audition for a role in my career so far. I don’t know how to do it. If somebody asks me to give an audition I get completely flustered. Like Mira Nair, I love her, she is a lovely person, she called me twice, and told me to give audition. I told her I can’t give it and that she can show some of my movies to the concerned person. She had first called me for Shantaram and for one more film, it was a Bengali detective film. If a time ever comes that without giving an audition I cannot get the film, I will be jobless. I can act in a film but I cannot audition” stated Arshad.

Arshad says that he has never expressed his desire to work with anybody or never called up anyone or asked for a job. He is grateful to God that he has never reached that stage. May be some day if he needs to do it, he will but as of now he does not feel the need to.

He made his acting debut in the year 1996 with Tere Mere Sapne, but his career properly took off only with Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.

“I only had one problem in the beginning of my career, for almost three years I was jobless but not after that. I might sound pompous but I practically refuse at least a film or two a day. I take up few which I like,” he added.

There is no doubt that Arshad is a talented actor, but at the end of it one needs to be commercially successful as well.

Here’s wishing Arshad Warsi all the very best and hoping that he has many more successful films coming his way.[/tps_footer]
