In January this year, some members of the Karni Sena outfit had assaulted Bhansali and his crew on the sets of Padmavati.
The Rajput outfit said that the country won’t tolerate if director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming movie Padmavati is released with controversial scenes. They had objected to a romantic scene between Rani Padmavati and Allauddin Khilji and demanded that it should be removed. The movie stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor.
At an event in Mumbai today Deepika Padukone expressed apprehension about Padmavati. On one hand, she said that the film had a definite release date but then she didn’t sound sure if the controversy involving Karni Sena’s demands will result in the actual making of the film.

This is exactly what Deepika had to say:
“Every film has its own sort of journey and if it is meant to happen it will happen. As far as I know Padmavati is definitely scheduled to release in November this year but if life has different plans for us and this film then let’s see. If not Padmavati then maybe some other film.”
The actress also quoted about her MET Gala appearance,
“I have always looked at everything as opportunities. For me or her (Priyanka Chopra), it is not about what we are wearing but it is the opportunity of being at the event. For me, it was that. Some may like it, some may not. People you meet and the experience you have are the memories you make. The only time I would allow any sort of comment to affect me is when my mom or my girlfriends give me some flak for it.”
