Deepika Padukone made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival this year and has joined the league of other B-town actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor.

While Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been rocking the red carpet for many years now, Deepika Padukone joined the L’oreal league this year. She replaced Katrina Kaif in the brigade.

Infact, Deepika Padukone was the first Indian to walk the Cannes red carpet this year. She made ethereal appearances and matched up to our expectations. And now, all the obvious comparisons are being made between her and Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

“I feel it shouldn’t happen. This is an incredible platform to showcase our talent and represent a brand or movie. We all are such strong individuals and I don’t see any overlap,” Deepika said to MidDay.

Deepika mingled with other celebrities from Hollywood like Julianne Moore and Susan Sarandon on Day 1. She calls that a moment she will always cherish.

“Susan was talking about her son picked up a dance element from Indian films and incorporated in his film.I know all our movies are not just about song and dance. Though people arr aware of the kind of films we make, there’s a lot to do in terms of educating them.”

On the work front, Deepika Padukone will be seen in Padmawati alongside beau Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus is slated to release on November 17, 2017.
