Dibakar Banerjee Mocks At Aamir Khan For Choosing Dhoom 3

Dibakar-AamirDibakar Banerjee‘s much awaited next release Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! has been making news for a while now. There have been news and speculations doing rounds. An insider earlier revealed that Dibakar Banerjee had approached Aamir Khan to play villain’s role in his film. And now finally the director himself broke the silence over this issue.

During the launch of the extended trailer of Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! director Dibakar Banerjee was accompanied by Sushant Singh Rajput. When asked to put light on the details about the authenticity of the news regarding Aamir Khan’s refusal to play the role of villain, Dibakar sportingly decided to explain the whole scenario.

Earlier, reports suggested that Dibakar offered Aamir Khan the film at the same time that he was offered Dhoom 3 by Aditya Chopra. In a dilemma of doing two negative roles back-to-back Aamir chose to do the latter despite liking both the roles. But the recent revelation by Banerjee states otherwise. According to the director, he had approached Aamir Khan with the role and the actor passed it by saying ‘maybe not this time’. Soon after which Aamir was offered the role in Dhoom 3 for which the actor gave a thumbs up.

Dibakar Banerjee stated, “Byomkesh Bakshy was the story I wanted to make after Khosla. As the villain of the movie plays a very important role we thought of approaching Aamir Khan. This was about two years ago. We narrated the plot to him but he passed by saying ‘maybe not this time.’ Later I came to know that he was on board for Dhoom 3. I guess YRF’s loss was YRF’s gain!” Although the director did not sound angry when he narrated the reality behind Aamir’s exit from the film, it sounded likeDibakar was mocking Aamir for choosing Dhoom 3 over Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! but in a playful manner.

Apparently, the villain of Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! has a very strong role in the film. Dibakar is not revealing the villain’s identity anytime soon and plans to keep it under wraps. The film is slated to release on April 3.
