Ashutosh Gowariker’s directed upcoming movie Mohenjo Daro starring Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde is releasing on August 12. While the film is yet to release on this Friday, the film has already collected Rs 60 crore. Yes, even before the release, Mohenjo Daro has reportedly collected a huge amount.
Reportedly, the much-awaited film has raked in Rs 45 crore from selling its satellite rights and Rs 15 crore from the sale of music rights. Mohenjo Daro, which is made on a big budget of Rs 115 crores, has already managed to make Rs 45 crore. Well, the makers of the film must be already happy about it.
Box office collections do matter for Mohenjo Daro as it is clashing with Akshay Kumar’s Rustom at the Box office. Both the highly anticipated films are releasing on August 12 and it remains to see who makes it big on the first day of its release. Mohenjo Daro is releasing on about 2300-2500 screens. In comparison, Rustom gets 2000 screens. It is more important for Mohenjo Daro to mint huge numbers at the Box office than Akshay Kumar’s Rustom as its budget is less than Rs 50 crore while Mohenjo Daro’s is Rs. 115 crore.
Mohenjo Daro starring Hrithik Roshan is a love story that dates back to 26th century BC while Akshay Kumar’s Rustom is based on 1959 Nanavati Case of Naval Officer, who was tried for murdering his wife’s lover.
