We know why Aamir Khan walked out of Rakesh Sharma biopic and no, it’s not because of the script!
It has been confirmed that Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has walked out of the biopic based on the life of Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma. Reportedly, the reason for this abrupt change of heart was cited as ‘disagreements between him and the creative team’.
According to a report, Aamir opted out of the project due to script concerns. Back in 2016, Siddharth Roy Kapur launched his own production house and approached Aamir Khan with the biopic. The Dangal actor was in the conversation to play the role of the Indian Astronaut Rakesh Sharma. Reportedly, the filming was to commence once Aamir was done with ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’. But the star chose to walk out of the project due to differences.
However, we know the truth!
A Bollywood insider told us, “The circulating reports are not at all true! Aamir was very keen on working with Mahesh on Rakesh Sharma biopic. In fact, almost everything was finalized. But Aamir had to walk away as he is working on another project with his own company. It’s just that his own production company is consuming his time.”
As for the ‘another project’ by Aamir Khan Productions, we will have to wait and watch! Previously, Aamir has produced movies like ‘Lagaan’, ‘Peepli Live’, ‘Dangal’ and ‘Secret Superstar’.

While Aamir is definitely not a part of Mahesh Mathai’s directorial venture— ‘Salute’, apparently, Quantico actress Priyanka Chopra and Padmavati actor Ranveer Singh have been approached for roles in the movie. No confirmation has come from either of the actors.
Currently, Aamir Khan is busy filming Yash Raj Films’ ‘Thugs of Hindostan’. Apart from Aamir the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
