Salman Khan has lately constantly been wrapped in controversies. The actor was highly condemned by the nation, media and also fellow celebrities for his ‘raped woman’ comment. Many individuals demanded an apology from the star. While his father Salim Khan took to Twitter to comment on the entire episode and apologised on the behalf of the actor, Salman never said or commented anything on the same and also avoided speaking to the media for quite some days. The media was incessantly waiting for the actor’s statement on the entire altercation.
Well, now that the actor’s latest film Sultan has released and achieved great success and also since things seem to have settled down a bit, Salman finally decided to break his silence on the issue.
The actor celebrated the success party of Sultan at his Panvel farmhouse recently. The media present there persisted the actor to speak on the controversy, to which he replied, “No, I don’t think like that. To me, it’s the performance of the last film that matters. That does the work. On fans supporting despite controversies. The whole cycle begins from there again. Once that chapter ends, another one begins. On the controversy, Should I give you something to survive for the next two weeks? If I don’t say anything I am boring. See, I understand your responsibility towards your job. But if I say something my people won’t like it.”
Adding to it, the actor also said that people often tend to seek to mean in his silence as well. “You reply, you don’t reply. People will still write what they want to. I may say something, it will be taken as something else. Phir ek statement ko ghuma firake kya hota hai you also know. It’s sad,” he added.
Well, there indeed is a point to this. But an apology wouldn’t hurt, would it?
