FIR Against ‘Ram Leela’ Director Bhansali, Ranveer, Deepika?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’ has stuck a rocky path even before the film’s grand release on 15 November. A Jaipur court has filed an FIR against the director and the actors of the film, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

JAIPUR: Sanjay Leela Bhansali had recently said that with ‘Ram Leela’, he is going back to the ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Devdas’ style of filmmaking. While ‘Ram Leela’ certainly looks grand in scale, looks like the film has fallen into controversy even before its release.

A Jaipur court has allegedly directed the police to register an FIR against director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone for turning different groups against each other on religious grounds.

Advocate Pawan Sharma has reportedly filed a case against the makers of ‘Ram Leela’ and he says that the film is promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion.

Rashtravadi Shiv Sena (RSS) activists also burnt posters of ‘Ram Leela’ seeking a ban on the film.

Is this a pre-publicity gimmick before the release? Or is the matter really as serious as it seems. One will have to see how long this Raas Leela lasts before ‘Ram Leela’ releases on 15 November!
