MUMBAI: For the last few years, Eid and Salman Khan have shared a special bond. It all started with ‘Wanted’, which was Salman Khan’s biggest hit of 2009. Sadly, Salman Khan will not keep his appointment with the festival this year. Fans don’t get disappointed.
It is just that, Salman Khan’s ‘Mental’ directed by brother Sohail Khan, which was due for release this year, will now release on 24 January, during the Republic Day weekend. However, his fans will have a double treat, as Eid will again have Salman Khan come up with Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Kick’.
A source close to Salman Khan and Sohail Khan says, “While Salman and Sohail were earlier contemplating to release ‘Mental’ in mid-January, they are now planning to release it on 24 January. They were doubtful as Republic Day falls on a Sunday, but 24 January it is.”
Salman Khan’s Eid releases have upset the other Khans, and competition is surely out of question. But with two films releasing in the same year, well it’s time to rule the box-office we say.
