Priyanka was in the city to launch the preview of her new single, I Can’t Make You Love Me. She also had to attend a press meet at the GUESS Store on Regent Street, London which was attended by hundreds of her fans and that’s where this incident happened.
Post the event, Priyanka Chopra stated, “I have had a few stalkers, and a few people have cut me while shaking hands by hiding razor blades in their palms, but that doesn’t bother me.”
The organizers did not predict such a huge turn out at the GUESS Store and so did not arrange for any security. But when they saw such a huge turn out and the frenzy of fans, Priyanka was advised not to go out and stay in the store. Priyanka however wanted to interact with her fans and thus throwing caution to the winds went out to meet her fans where this incident took place.
She said, “We didn’t know how many people were going to turn up, so I was very happy to see so many people. I was told not to go outside as it was dangerous, but I said, don’t be ridiculous. I ended up dragging a table outside to stand on so I could see everyone. I don’t believe in security. I belong to my fans, they are the ones who put me here.”
For the event, Priyanka went for a casual yet sassy look, opting for GUESS, obviously. She paired her monochrome blazer with a black T-shirt and denims. Black boots, statement golden earrings and a sleek ponytail completed her look.
Priyanka Chopra is the first Indian GUESS girl. GUESS fashion models earlier included names like Claudia Schiffer, Anna Nicole Smith, Eva Herzigova, Valeria Mazza, Julia Lescova, Laetitia Casta and Kate Upton.
The event also marked her first promotional round in the UK as a recording artist and as the brand ambassador of GUESS.
The actress even attended the VIP dinner at the London Edition Hotel, alongside the likes of Pixie Lott, Eliza Doolittle, Laura Whitmore and David Gandy.
