She was born on January 05, 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark, to Ujjala and Prakash Padukone.
The Box-Office Queen has admitted to being socially awkward as a child and also the fact that she did not have many friends as she was focused on pursueing a career in badminton throughout her school. Padukone also worked as a child model, first appearing in a couple of advertising campaigns at a tender age eight. When she was in her tenth grade, she changed focus and decided to become a fashion model. In 2004, she began a full-time career as a model under the guidance of Prasad Bidapa. In 2005, she made her debut at the Lakme Fashion Week for designer Suneet Varma, and won the Model Of The Year Award at the Kingfisher Fashion Awards.
She stated her dream run in the year 2006 from a Kannada film Aishwarya, post which in 2007 made an impressive debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om and as they say rest is history.
Year 2013 proved to be the best year for Deepika Padukone’s career wise as she was part of four film that made it to the 100 crore club. The year began with Race 2, followed by Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, then Chennai Express and last but not the least she nailed it with Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela to end the year with a bang.
Deepika Padukone has also been in the news thanks to the string of affairs that she has had. From Ranbir Kapoor to Siddharth Mallya and the very recent Ranveer Singh, her relationships have always made headlines.
Year 2014, also seems to be a good one for as she has quite a few projects lined up and will soon be seen in Kochadaiiyaan, a Tamil period film opposite Superstar Rajnikant. Finding Fanny Fernandes opposite Arjun Kapoor would follow this and finally the year would end with Happy New Year opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
