Speculation has been rife that the project, earlier titled ‘Mental’, was being changed to ‘Jai Ho’, in keeping with the patriotic theme and the fact that the film would release on 24 January, 2014. (READ FULL STORY HERE)
And now, the makers seem to have had a change of heart, with the title undergoing a possible change, to be renamed as ‘Azaad’. The family was referring to the film as ‘Jai Ho’ all this while, but it seems likely that it will now be called ‘Azaad’.
Sources also suggest that Salman Khan’s name in the film may be ‘Azaad’, hence the change.
‘Mental’/ ‘Jai Ho’/ ‘Azaad’ is a remake of Chiranjeevi’s Telugu film ‘Stalin’, and will be Salman’s first release in 2014. Salman Khan has had no release in 2013.
