[tps_footer]Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is finally a free man after releasing from Pune’s Yerawada Jail today morning. Sanjay Dutt who was serving his punishment for the illegal possession of arms in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, is finally out and reached Mumbai with his wife Manyata.
With many ups and downs and few bitter memories in his life, Sanjay Dutt’s last day inside the prison was a dramatic one. Reportedly, initially when Sanjay Dutt had entered the Arthur Road jail, he wasn’t ready to wear the common uniform, which was given to every prisoner out there. He however, complied after being told in stern words.
But after spending five years inside the jail, Sanjay Dutt got used to the living that were meant for other prisoners. From getting up early in the morning, to doing the allotted work, Sanjay Dutt did the same drill along with other prisoners.
Yesterday, while preparations were going around at his Pali Hill residence to welcome Sanjay Dutt, the actor was mending his torn prison uniform at the jail. Reportedly, during his bath, Sanjay Dutt realized that his prison uniform is torn from the shoulder and requested for a needle and thread to mend it.
Entertaining the jail inmates by being a radio jockey, Dutt went to prison radio station to begin with his show ‘Aap ki Farmaish.’ Many inmates requested for songs and dialogues from his films. One of the songs Sanjay Dutt played was ‘Chithhi aai hai’ from the 1986 film Naam.
Inmates also wanted to dedicate the whole show as a send off for Dutt, but the authorities rejected the request as treating him as an ordinary convict. The jail authorities have already pre-recorded five shows from Dutt.
Here’s how Sanjay Dutt spent his last day in prison:
- Dutt woke up early at 6.30 am.
- He ordered dry fruits from the prison canteen from his pocket money.
- He mended his torn uniform.
- He went on a walk in the prison with 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yusuf Nalwala.
- After smoking a bidi from the canteen, at 11 am, Sanjay Dutt began with radio show.
- Later in the day, he began with his preparations to return back home.
Reportedly, the Munnabhai MBBS actor has also expressed his wish to purchase a bamboo chair that he initially made at the prison. The actor has a wish to purchase the chair and keep it at his residence, but the authorities have not granted permission to the actor yet.[/tps_footer]
