Father’s Day is an occasion when the usually unappreciated fathers of the world get a chance to kick back and be showered with love by their children. Be it expensive gifts, dinners or public wishes – everyone has their own way of showing their fathers just how much they love them. However, in a very pleasant twist and turn from tradition, Irrfan Khan spent Father’s Day 2016 in a very unusual way.

Irrfan took his 11-year-old son Ayan to Sabarmati today to celebrate Father’s Day by being around the ashram of Mahatma Gandhi. It is not a very well known fact that Khan is heavily inspired by the ideologies preached by the ‘Father Of The Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi. However, taking a break from work and the hectic city life, Irrfan has spent the day in the ashram surrounded by other like-minded volunteers.

According to reports, Irrfan wants to teach Ayan about the significance of Gandhi’s life and ideologies as well as wants him to experience the peace and tranquility of the ashram. If you think that the tour was brief and impersonal, think again. These photos show that not only was the father-son duo taking the whole tour of the ashram, but they also took part in some activities like using the infamous spinning wheel. They ended the tour with peacefully sitting near a statue of Mahatma Gandhi. We think this is a wonderful Father’s Day that Irrfan Khan has spent with Ayan.

On the professional front, the actor will be seen in ‘Madaari’ playing the role of a vigilante.
