However, since the promos of the film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ made rounds, the movie got entangled in various controversies.

The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ received loads of flak for its song Pinga. Many groups also blamed the makers of the historic drama for distorting the facts and misinterpreting them. The film was also blamed for misleading the history in many places. However, when all these blames were thought to be a passing phase, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ witnessed a negative remark when the 200 members of Bharatiya Janata Party protested against the same.

The protests from the BJP workers then took a drastic turn and five shows of the film were cancelled in Pune. The protestors claimed that the portrayal of Peshwa Bajirao in the film Bajirao Mastani is distorted and many elements in the film were misinterpreted.

The members of the BJP further opined that historical facts have been misled in the film. Ranveer Singh who was all busy with the promotions of the film until now has recently voiced his view on the protests of ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Ranveer who is seen as the central character of the movie said, “The feeling definitely gets negative because someone is protesting when you never had any such intentions. You work with your heart to entertain people and to make a good film… you work with complete hardwork and determination, and then such negativity is created. Obviously we feel bad because it is a negative issue.”
The historic drama nonetheless has garnered positive reviews for its well worked set designs and characters. The film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ also stars actress Priyanka Chopra in lead role apart from Ranveer and Deepika.
