Before additional Sessions Judge DW Deshpande, the prosecutor said that Salman Khan vanished from the accident spot in 2002 instead of helping the injured victims. In his final argument he also said that the conduct of the accused needs to be analysed.
Citing the testimony of witness Francis Fernandes and also the friend of Salman Khan living in the same area of the incident, Gharat said that their statement make it clear that the actor had run away from the spot after the incident.
Gharat also said that Fernandes and his wife rushed out of their home after they heard the loud noise and saved the people.
He also said that if the driver was there at the time of incident, the case would have been different. He said, “Men may lie, circumstances do not,” while rejecting driver Ashok Singh’s statement that he was behind the wheel at the time of incident.
