Hot Deal: Saif Ali Khan For ‘Naram Garam’ Remake

Kumar Mangat has brought rights of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1981 film ‘Naram Garam’ and the film is going to be re-made. Saif Ali Khan will don the role of Amol Palekar aka Ramprasad

MUMBAI: First it was Chashme Buddoor, which was remade by David Dhavan. And now it’s another comic caper from the Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s era of middle-class comedies to go for a face-lift. It is his 1981’s classic Naram Garam.

While Amol Palekar played Ramprasad in the original role, our very own Russian mafia aka Boris in ‘Go Goa Gone’ aka Saif Ali Khan is set to play his character.

Kumar Mangat who has produced films like ‘Omkara’ and ‘Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji’ has brought the remake rights and Ashwni Dhir, who earlier directed ‘Son Of Sardar’ and ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?’ will be directing the remake.

Kumar Mangat and Saif Ali Khan had a long discussion, before the actor finally gave his nod and signed the project.

Ashwni Dhir, who has worked with Ajay Devgn, will be working for the first time with Saif Ali Khan.

Quite a unique combination we say, but what would be more unique to see is who reprises Shatrughan Sinha and Swaroop Sampat’s roles.

This one surely looks to be a Garam affair!
