Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, playboy with a heart of gold, has supported the initiative by SOS Childrens Villages of India. The organisation held an event called ‘Art from the Heart’.

[imagebrowser id=222]MUMBAI: Bollywood’s serial kisser Emraan Hashmi can now very well be renamed: the boy with a heart of gold. For he has been frequently spotted at events which have a social message; the latest being the 2nd edition of Art from the Heart in Mumbai, 10 December.

Emraan showed up in a striped shirt and a pair of denims, to lend his support to the initiative by SOS Childrens Villages of India, which had organised the function ‘Art from the Heart’. ‘Art from the Heart’ is a CSR initiative by Edenred in association with SOS childrens Village of India. The painting competition gave an opportunity to the NGO children to showcase their creativity. Emraan was present to felicitate the winner of the 2nd edition of ‘Art from the Heart’, and he was also seen signing autographs and interacting with the children present.

We also spotted Sandeep Banerjee, MD and CEO of Edenred India and Akshay Singh, Head Corporate Partnership Fund Development and Communications SOS Childrens Villages of India, during the function organized to felicitate the winner of the 2nd edition of Art from the Heart.

In a bizarre twist, considering he was surrounded by kids, Emraan revealed that he hopes kids do not watch his films. Though the actor has a strong fan-following among the kiddie party, he finds it very surprising, since he has done several ‘A’ certificate films. “It’s kind of surprising. I hope they don’t watch my films. I am sure it’s probably a connect from music; television… that medium has always had a great impact. Because in many small cities my songs are played in radios so there is certain connection from there,” Emraan told us during a felicitation for winners of the second edition of ‘Art from the Heart’.

Talking about his own son, Emraan adds, “My son loves painting. He’s a better artist than I am.”

Emraan, who spent his day with the underprivileged children, says he connects well with the kids. “It’s a noble cause. I always used to connect with the kids. When you have your own child then this connection is enhanced. I always felt all of us… in our childhood days; we want to be part of this art form. I am very happy that these children come from different cities and get an opportunity to win. I wish there are many more such opportunities for such causes.”
