GOA: Day 2 of the Indian Resort Fashion Week (IRFW) saw the most unlikely ramp-scorcher we could have expected. Yesteryear actress and screen idol Zeenat Aman was seen shimmering on the white sands in Goa.
The super stylish 61 year old screen diva was the showstopper for fashion designers Riyaz and Reshma Gangji’s latest collection ‘Libas’. Zeenat was clad in a multi-layered pink ghagra skirt, and a loose structured embroidered gold jacket. She completed her ensemble with a floral piece in her hair, and rimless spectacles befitting the stature of the lady.
The actress revealed post her ramp walk, “I like clothes that they make even if it is jacket or Indian wear, they take into account that it is comfortable and not inappropriate. It is always nice to work with Riyaz and Reshma.”
When quizzed about her pick of the best among this generation’s actresses, Zeenat said that she personally likes Priyanka Chopra’s sartorial style. “I admire Priyanka’s style statement. She is very contemporary and also at the same time, the rock chic inside her comes out,” she said.
Designer Riyaz Gangji couldn’t stop gushing about his showstopper, Zeenat Aman, “Zeenat Amanji was the hottest heroines of her era. She was the ultimate diva who carried bikini with elegance and panache.”
He further added, “Zeenatji brings class, elegance and stylishness along with her representing the modern women who is a mother, mother-in-law and a parent figure.”
At the IRFW, designer-duo Riyaz and Reshma are showcasing an exquisite collection of men’s and women’s wear, drawing inspiration from destination weddings. The collection is christened ‘Shimmering Sand’.
Day 2 of India Resort Fashion Week 2012 also saw representation from the B’town celebrities like Genelia Deshmukh, Shazahn Padamsee, Karan Grover, Neeta Lulla, Laila Furniturewala, Pria Kataria-Puri and Vikram Raizada.
