After backing several content-driven Bollywood films like Accidental Prime Minister , Zero , Badla , Kahaani 2, Shivaay and Helicopter Eela, among others, and many regional films (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi and Gujarati), PEN studios’ subsidiary company, Pen Marudhar Entertainment, is set to expand its wings. They have now ventured into Hollywood and have acquired the all-India distribution rights of the most-awaited Hollywood movie, Annabelle Comes Home.
Based on the legend of the Annabelle doll, it’s a supernatural horror film that is a sequel to the 2014 film, Annabelle, and the 2017 movie, Annabelle: Creation. It has been written by Gary Dauberman, who has also directed the film (directorial debut).
PEN chairperson Dr Jayantilal Gada is elated that his company is not only backing star-studded, big-banner Bollywood films, and regional cinema, but has also started exploring international waters. “PEN is committed to striking a balance between films that do well, commercially, and those that have good content. With Annabelle Comes Hone, we are in a win-win situation, because it’s likely to succeed in both the categories (commercial and content),” says Dr Jayantilal Gada.
