When Queen was released, Kangana Ranaut didn’t only win hearts with her mind-blowing performance in the film but also awards. The actress became the ‘Queen’ of Bollywood with her film. Now, currently Deepika Padukone is riding high on her recently released film Piku’s success. Audiences loved Deepika’s character and performance in Piku. With Deepika’s Piku and Kangana’s Queen, people started to compare the two films together, as both the films are women centric films and show the female character in a whole new different light.
Kangana Ranaut, who is busy promoting her upcoming film Tanu Weds Manu Returns, reacted on the whole “comparing” business that’s been going around for a while now. Kangana said that she doesn’t understand how one can compare her film Queen with Deepika Paudkone starrer film Piku. “I don’t see how you can compare a big film like Piku to a small flick like Queen. Piku had all the big stars Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan and Deepika Padukone. While when I signed Queen, my position in the industry was not even secure. ”
Directed by Vikas Bahl, Queen happens to be a small budget film. The actress went further on and said that even though Vikas Bahl was a new director and big films did release the same year Queen was released, the film bagged all the awards and the director came to limelight through Queen. Kangana Ranaut also reminded everyone that because she always goes with her gut feeling and often chooses unconventional films, some of her films were marked as flops, while other did very well at the Box Office and were very successful.
Director Anand L. Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns is all set to hit the theatres this week on Friday, May 22, 2015. The film stars Kangana Ranaut and R. Madhavan in the lead roles.
