Remember the iconic Amitabh Bachchan-Rekha number “Dekha Ek Khwab To Hey Silsile Huey…” from Yash Chopra’s Silsila that was shot in the breathtaking tulip fields of Amsterdam? The new Kangna Ranaut film ‘Queen’ which stars Kangna in the title role would see the actress recreate the ‘Dekha ek khwab’ magic with her co-star Raj Kumar Yadav.

Apparently Kangna, a major Rekha fan, would be replicating the iconic diva’s look from the Silsila song down to its minutest detail.

Interestingly Raj Kumar Yadav who plays Kangna’s love-interest is named Vijay in Queen. Vijay is the name that the Big B assumed in many of his most famous roles.

Says a source very close to the project, “We in the unit of Queen are all major Amitabh Bachchan-Rekha fans. We shot one portion of Queen with Kangna in Paris. And now we’re moving to Amsterdam mainly because we want to do a song in the tulip fields that pays tribute to the Silsila number.”

So keen is the Queen team to film a romantic number in the tulip fields of Amsterdam that they went to great lengths to get permission to shoot on location. Apparently only two Hindi films Yash Chopra’s Silsila and Raj Kapoor’s Prem Rog have been shot in the tulip fields of Amsterdam. Thereafter permission has been denied to all film units to shoot in the tulip fields.

Says a source, “We had to pay a hefty amount of foreign exchange to get into the tulip fields of Keukenhof, a town near Amsterdam. But we managed. We’re recreating the Silsila romance.”
