Talking about her how she landed the role, Namya shares, “Actually I was referred by Sharib Hashmi. He is a friend. SO I have done the movie “Phullu” with him that’s similar to Akshay Kumar’s “Padman”. The director of “Phullu”, Abhishek Saxena is my real brother and I did a supporting role in the film. So I know Sharib through him and then he approached me for “Vodka Diaries” and said that it’s a small role just like a cameo so will I do it.”

She further reveals that, it was Kay Kay Menon who inspired her to say “Yes” for the role.

“So I asked Sharib what is the film all about and then he revealed to me that Kay Kay Menon is in the film. And hearing that I was thrilled because I am a big fan of Kay Kay Menon Sir and I immediately said yes. Also, I was free in January last year so I agreed to give it a shot,” adds Namya.

She further shares, “I wasn’t at all prepared for the audition as I thought it will be a meeting and then they asked me to audition and it was one of those hazy, blank days when I was not at all prepared but then I went ahead and gave it and they really liked it and selected me. That’s how I landed this role!”

Speaking about her character, Namya says, “My character in the film is of an independent girl who is dating a guy. And this guy is somehow connected to Raima Sen in the movie and he also has a song with her. You will be surprised to know that till now I don’t know the complete script of the movie (laughs). It’s kept very confidential as the makers want the viewers to go and see the mystery in theaters.”

Vodka Diaries is an upcoming thriller film directed by Kushal Srivastava and is all set to hit the silver screens on January 19, 2018.
