Kiran Rao Will Be Creative Consultant On Anand Gandhi’s Next

‘Ship Of Theseus’ was deep and philosophical. It was thought provoking and those from the audiences who have watched it have liked it. As they still cling on to the memories of ‘Ship Of Theseus’, director Anand Gandhi says his next film will not be as deep as his debut.

MUMBAI: Fans, who have watched Anand Gandhi’s ‘Ship Of Theseus’ are still clinging on to the deep philosophies the film and the strong message it gives about life. With ‘Ship Of Theseus’ sailing high, audiences eagerly await Anand Gandhi’s next. 

Meanwhile, Anand Gandhi has said that his next film will not be as ‘heavy’ and ‘deep’ like ‘Ship Of Theseus’. “Although this time I will stay away from having a philosophical discourse, the grammar of my filmmaking will be evident. It will be relatively light-hearted. It will focus on relationships and emotions of characters. I am still writing the script and developing my characters.”

Kiran Rao who presented ‘Ship Of Theseus’ will also collaborate on Anand Gandhi’s new film. This time though, Kiran Rao will also be a creative consultant. The film is budgeted at Rs 8 crore and will go on floors by the end of this year.

Sohum Shah also expressed his happiness being cast again in the film and says, “I am thrilled to work with Gandhi (Anand) again. From Anurag Kashyap, to Anil Kapoor, everybody loved my performance. I couldn’t ask for a better second film.”

Anand Gandhi is also co-producing a film called ‘Tumbad’ to be directed by Rahi Barve. It will star his current prodigy Sohum Shah, who made a strong impact as the stockbroker in ‘Ship Of Theseus’. The film is currently in the post-production stage and release next year.

With ‘Ship Of Theseus’ given a thumbs up from the niche audiences, looks like Anand Gandhi’s career is set to sail high!
