The BJP MP and veteran actress Kirron Kher had adviced the gang-rape victim that she should have been more careful!

The BJP MP and veteran actress Kirron Kher had created a controversy on this Wednesday when she gave an advice to the recent gang-rape victim. While talking to media, she had said that the girl should have been more careful. According to her, the girl should not have taken a rickshaw which had three men in it.

Earlier in this month, a 22 year old was gang raped by an auto-rickshaw driver and his two accomplices, after she boarded the vehicle.

Kher had said, “I want to tell this girl and all other girls that if you see three men sitting in the auto, they should not board it. I am saying this to protect the girls. We all have to be alert about such things. I am saddened by what has happened with the woman.”

The politician and veteran actress had also said, “Whenever we took a taxi in Mumbai, we used to let someone know the taxi number …I feel that in these times, we also have to be more careful about these things.”

This didn’t go well with the people who started criticizing her for the statement. The opposition party Congress’ leader Pawan Kumar Bansal even said that Kirron should treat the matter seriously.

Now the actress has come out justifying her statement. She has said, “I just said that the world is a bad place. We all, especially ladies, have to take precautions. As a mother, I am saying this that we need to take care.”

In response to Bansal’s accusations she said, “Chandigarh police send PCR whenever a girl calls 100 at night. Politics should not be played on the issue. If the Congress wants to make an issue out of it, I cannot help.”
