There have been a lot of controversies surrounding the film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi for the past month. There were even rumours regarding Kangana Ranaut, the leading lady hijacking the project. However, now the entire truth of the matter has come out. It is actually the Director of the movie Krish who wants completely distanced himself from Manikarnika. He earlier abandoned the patchwork for the project in order to focus on the NTR biopic and now his movie is releasing on the very same day as Jhansi Ki Rani biopic.

This would be a first time ever that Indian director will have two biopics released on the same day. It is being said that this parting between Krish and the producers of Manikarnika was announced as “amicable” , insiders reveal that the parting was far from amicable. According to insiders, Krish “amputated” himself from Mankarnika to focus on the NTR biopic. He is now determined to put out his NTR biopic on the same day as Manikarnika…. A classic instance of cutting the nose to spite the face.

As per the sources it is also said that Krish is under political pressure to complete and release the NTR biopic ahead of the Andhra state elections in 2019. A source closely associated with Krish says the director is under severe pressure, “On the one hand the Rani Laxmibai biopic has slipped out of Krish’s hands. Kangana Ranaut has taken over the project with the tacit approval of the producers. On the other hand , the producers of the NTR biopic want their project out on the auspicious occasion of Pongal. Let’s hope something auspicious comes out of this self-competition for Krish.”

In the meantime, Kangana Ranuat is working round the clock to complete Manikarnika and to ensure that it is able to meet the release date of January 25, 2019. The teaser has managed to get a stupendous response and the team is confident of the work that they have achieved despite challenges.
